Law of the Forest Lienli

Lienli is a forest. Under the monarchy of King Lion named ‘Lien’, forest Lienli has been known for its monthly ceremonial meetings, days when the royal cave opens its gate for all its citizens to put up their problems towards the King. Here, every elephant dreams to stand on the gate of the royal cave. To stretch their trump high, in the honor of the lion king.

It was the end of the month and news of the ceremonial meeting was the talk of the forest. All the animals had gathered to be part of the meeting. Two Elephants, old and young had taken their position.

‘King is coming! King is coming!’ exclaimed Rat, the knight.

The Elephants trumpet welcomed King and brought the whole crowd to attention. King Lion, Lien, walked towards his throne, raised above by two massive blocks of shiny rocks. Rat, the knight, stood upright beside the lion. Then, Cow, the oldest animal in the forest stood up and asked the meeting to proceed.

Utter silence spread, as always.

Between all this, the young elephant noticed the teary eyes of the old elephant.

‘Why are you crying?’ asked the young Elephant.

‘My dearest friend Goldie, the Deer, was hunted by our King Lion today morning. Who knew today’s sun rise would also arise the hunger of our King? Who knew that the God of death had my friend’s name written on his list? All happened as faith had it written.’

‘You deserve Justice.’ said the young Elephant angrily.

Justice! Justice! Justice! Demanded the young Elephant running towards the Lion King.

‘Oh, Royal King! My friend here demands justice, Goldie, the deer, a friend of our old Elephant has been hunted by you.’

‘How dare you speak such words for our Royal King?’ said Rat, the knight and moved towards the young Elephant pointing his rifle towards him.

‘Hunger was the sole reason for the hunt, and there is no punishment for such act in Law of the Forest Lienli.’ addressed Cow, the adviser.
